Royal Oak is one of the best spots in metro Detroit for nightlife. They have a really busy downtown area with tons of restaurants, movies, and bars as well as movie theaters. Over the last few years Royal Oak has really been built up with new loft style condos bringing in more people and making downtown even better.
Little Tree Sushi - The best place in royal oak to get sushi. They have a relaxed atmosphere and top of the line sushi. You can find it on 11 Mile and Main Street.
Red Coat Tavern - If you're looking for a burger in Royal Oak, this is the place to go. It looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but make no mistake. They have the best burgers around as well as a large menu to get different beers. Located on Woodward just north of 13 Mile.
BD's Mongolian BBQ - This is where you go when you want stir fry. They have fresh food and you can choose from meats like chicken, prime rib, shrimp, crab, and many more. Its all you can eat and will run you in between $10-15. Located downtown on Main Street between 4th and 5th Street.
Zumba Mexican Grille - If you want fast food mexican without the low quality of Taco Bell then you want to go to Zumba. They are a little on the pricey side and you dont get really big portions, but their food is high quality. Located on Main Street just north of 11 Mile.
Memphis Smoke - When the weather is warm and you want somewhere to relax you will want to check out the rooftop at Memphis Smoke. Otherwise if you want to relax and see a blues band check out the downstairs area. They are also great for their Cajun food if you're hungry. You can find them on the corner of 11 Mile and Main Street.
Goodnite Gracie Jazz & Martini Bar - If you're looking to grab a martini you will want to go to Goodnite Gracies. They also have regular drinks and a nice selection of cigars. You can find them at Washington and Sherman around the corner from the Royal Oak music theater.
Blackfinn - This is a newer bar to downtown Royal Oak. Its a irish bar that also serves food. They have great $2 draft specials during the week and get very busy even though most bars are dead during the week. They are a little packed on some weekends. You can find them at 6th and Main Street.
Bastone Brewery - Bastone has a great selection of micro brews as well as a good food selection. They are located on the corner of 5th Street and Main.
Fifth Avenue Billiards - This is where you wan to go to play a game of pool. They also have a stage and have cover bands playing several times per week. There is several pool tables and two floors. There is usually a $5 cover when bands are playing but well worth it. Located on 5th Ave between Washington and Center Street.
O'Tooles - This is a great sports bar to relax at. They have decent prices on drinks and pool tables and dart boards. Try one of their beer tubes to get more bang for your buck. They are on 5th Street and Center.
Snookers' Pool & Pub - This is a good pool hall with a nice selection of tables and dart boards as well as a bar. Located on Woodward between 12 and 13 Mile.
Woody's Diner - This is a nice bar with two stories. They have a sports bar with food on the main floor and pool tables and a large dance floor upstairs. Sometimes there is a cover upstairs on the weekend. You can find Wild Woody's on 5th Ave and Center street.
