Birmingham, Michigan Party Bus

Birmingham is located in Oakland County, and it's one of the richer suburbs of Detroit. The downtown area attracts lots of tourists and shoppers, and it makes a great destination for your party bus outing--perhaps combined with a few destinations in nearby Royal Oak. Something interesting about Birmingham that you may not know? Google runs its Metro Detroit offices from this city. The downtown area boasts plenty of coffee shops and ice cream shops, as well as clothing stores. You'll want to explore all of that, but when choosing restaurants and bars in the area, take your pick from our favorites in the 48009 and 48012 zip codes.

Forte - Conveniently located near the Uptown Birmingham Theater, Forte is an expensive (but very worth it!) upscale restaurant for those who like to dine with class. They do have amazingly cheap lunch specials that will give your tastebuds a thrill while not busting your wallet. The basics like pizza and burgers are amazing here, as are the more fancy items. Located on South Old Woodward Ave, between Maple Rd and Brown St.

The Rugby Grille - Many say this is their favorite restaurant in the area. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny. Fantastic steaks and seafood are a big draw here, and their specialties are Waygu Beef Short Ribs and Dover Sole Menuiere. Located on Townsend St a few blocks east of Southfield Rd.

Leo's Coney Island - This is the headquarters of the whole Leo's Coney Island group of restaurants, and if you're looking for excellent American and Greek food, you just can't beat Leo's. Cheap breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The coneys are delicious of course, but the Greek salads are another favorite of ours. Located on South Old Woodward Ave, just south of Maple Rd.

Buca Di Beppo - This is possibly our favorite restaurant in Birmingham, mostly because of the ridiculously giant portions of delicious Italian food, but also because of the gorgeous yet fun and cozy atmosphere. Great service, always a great time. There is also a bar area to relax and enjoy a drink before or after your meal. Great for big groups. You'll find this one on North Old Woodward Ave, north of Maple Rd.

Sy Thai Restaurant - The locals will tell you that this is the best Thai food in the area, and we believe them. Our favorite is a noodle dish made with brandy, but you can't really go wrong with any item on the menu here. You'll find this Thai gem on Hamilton Row just west of Old Woodward.

Dick O'Dow's - We've got to kick off our bars listings with this great Irish pub. Great authentic atmosphere and food that goes far and above your typical bar fare. The drinks are nicely priced too. Always good times here. You can find Dick's on Maple Rd just west of Old Woodward

Corner Bar - Despite the unassuming name, this is one of the more upscale bars in the Birmingham area. The drinks are generally in the seven to ten dollar range, but you're of course paying for the fine details like the wood, glass, and tile accents that make the bar what it is. For those who know that they get what they pay for, you'll find Corner Bar on the corner of Pierce and Merrill, which is just south of Maple Rd.

Edison's - An older crowd (30s and 40s) lends an atmosphere of sophistication to this cozy bar. Their specialty is martinis, but these mixologists definitely know how to serve all your favorites. We love the long bar and the relaxed atmosphere. Located on Merrill St just south of Maple Rd

Big Rock Chop House & Got Rocks Ultra Lounge - Big Rock Chop House itself is an excellent restaurant, but attached to it is a brewery that covers nearly 2000 square feet. It's packed with custom equipment and four signature beers plus a seasonal specialty brew. Upstairs you'll also find the Got Rocks Ultra Lounge, a martini bar with a dance floor and VIP booth with reservations for bottle service. You can rent this space for groups of up to 100, so it's great for bachelor and bachelorette parties. You'll find both of these great nightspots on South Eton St, inside the historic Birmingham Train Station, east of Woodward. Just look for the big rock!

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar - While not really a nightspot, this is a classy place to enjoy a menu of over one hundred wines, thirty of which are under ten dollars a glass. You can order by the taste, glass, flight, or bottle. The atmosphere is upscale and sophisticated. You'll find this one on North Old Woodward Ave.
