Allen Park, Michigan Party Bus
Allen Park is a part of the Downriver area in Wayne County, and it was noted as one of America's Best Small Cities in Money Magazine. Allen Park is known for its Ford plants, for the Lions headquarters, for that giant Uniroyal Tire, and now for the upcoming Unity Studios movie studio. But locals know that the best things about Allen Park are its excellent restaurants and bars. If you're heading into the Downriver area on your party bus excursion, here are some of our favorite places to eat and drink in the zip codes 48101 and 48102.
Moro's Dining - Moro's is known for being one of the most upscale restaurants in Allen Park. Their food gets praise from all the locals, and their service is phenomenal. The fare is Italian and International. Though you may have to wait a while for a table (they do not accept reservations), it is definitely worth your time. You'll find this restaurant on Allen Rd, just south of Southfield Rd.
Tulio's La Riviera - Another classic Italian restaurant in the area is Tulio's. They've been in business for more than fifty years thanks to their romantic atmosphere and wonderful food. Their specialties are fish and veal, and they have a full bar and extensive wine list. Truly upscale and you can't miss this one if you want to try everything that's great in Allen Park. Located on Allen Rd south of Ecorse Rd.
Manuel's Taco Hut - Manuel's has been in business seemingly forever, and for good reason. Their Mexican food is the best in town. The atmosphere takes you straight to Mexico in a more authentic way than most restaurants, and the service is outstanding. We'd recommend the chicken enchiladas, and the menudo is also fantastic. Located on Ecorse Rd between Allen Rd and Pelham Rd.
Opa Opa Coney Island Restaurant - Opa Opa has been in business for around twenty years, maybe longer! You've of course got your traditional coney island fare, but with lots of Greek specials to whet your appetite. The saganaki is delicious, and the Greek mural really adds to the charm of this establishment. Located on Hamilton Ave, on the corner of Outer Drive and the Southfield service drive.
Sylvia's Super Sub Shop - Love subs but tired of the fast food variety? Sylvia's has been in business for many years, with 45 different subs, available in three and five foot lengths for parties, plus delicious Sicilian pizzas, salads, and wing dings. This is a great place to fill up without breaking the bank. Located on Allen Road just south of Outer Drive.
B Boomer's Sports Bar & Grille - Locals love B Boomer's because it's the best sports bar in the area. The walls are lined with autographed photos, sports memorabilia, and old Detroit newspapers highlighting past sports accomplishments. The food is delicious--particularly the wings and burgers. The drinks are affordably priced, and there are pool tables for those who like to get their game on. A true local legend. Located on Southfield Rd where it intersects with Roosevelt Rd. Wheat & Rye Steak House - Another local legend, the Wheat & Rye has giant steaks on the cheap (20oz for under $13). Gorgeous waitstaff provides a little eye candy to go with your dinner and drinks. There are darts and pool tables in addition to the hi def televisions, so you don't have to worry about missing the big game while you're partying! Located on Allen Rd south of Ecorse Rd.
Capers Tavern & Eatery - Capers is quickly gaining a reputation for being a great place to eat and drink. Great food, great beverages. It's known as a real neighborhood bar, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend the keilbasa deluxe specialty sandwich, and the buffalo chicken roll-up always hits the spot. Located on the corner of Outer Dr and Southfield Rd (in the shopping center between Dunham's and Little Caesar's).
Dunleavy's - Dunleavy's has been an Allen Park fixture for too many years to count. They're known for their giant burgers, and their hot wings are also excellent with chunky blue cheese. Nice bar and pub atmosphere, very comfortable. Located on Allen Rd, near the intersection with Southfield Rd
Scoreboard Lounge - Scoreboard Lounge is known for being the world's first solar powered bar. They've got daily specials (pitchers on Sunday, tacos on Monday, coneys on Tuesday, etc...) and lunch for a buck every day from 10am to 11pm. Hot girls will keep your glasses filled all night long, and you can kick back knowing that your night of partying has a very low carbon footprint. Who knew partying could be green, and not just on St Patrick's Day? Located on Van Born Rd, just west of the Southfield Fwy.
