Troy, Michigan Party Bus

Troy is located within Oakland County, and it's the second largest city within that county, with Farmington Hills beating them out for the top spot. Possibly the biggest tourist attraction in the area is The Somerset Collection. This giant mall has almost one and a half million square feet of retail space, and Michigan residents know it's worth the travel time even if you live clear across the state. Oakland Mall is another major attraction, as is the Troy Sports Center which is where the Detroit Red Wings practice and train when they're not on the ice at Joe Louis Arena. If you rent a party bus to travel to Troy, you'll want to hit some of the best bars and restaurants in the zip codes 48007, 48083, 48085, 48098, and 48099. Here is a small sampling of our favorites...

Restaurants

The Melting Pot - The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant that is so much fun for group outings. Dinner takes a couple of hours, so you have plenty of time to kick back and enjoy your company. All the various types of fondue are to die for, but we also really recommend the cocktails--they do everything right at this restaurant. The only possible downside is that it can be a bit pricey, but the amazing food and unforgettable atmosphere make it totally worth it. Located on Big Beaver Rd just east of Crooks Rd.

Kim's Restaurant - Kim's is all about delicious Chinese food, and it comes highly recommended by the locals and travelers alike. It is Chinese-American style rather than authentic Chinese. Our favorite is the Chicken Chow Mein, but you really can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Located on Long Lake Rd east of Livernois.

Kona Grill - Kona Grill brings you the best of contemporary American food (with an Asian twist!) all in one place. Their steak, seafood, and sushi are the highlights--truly delicious food. The atmosphere is truly upscale, and you can eat indoors or on a warm day you'll enjoy the patio. We loved the Lemon Grass Crusted Halibut. Located on Big Beaver Rd, east of Livernois.

PF Chang's China Bistro - PF Chang's is the trendiest destination for Asian and Chinese food, with upscale decor and a fun and friendly staff. The menu items put a new twist on the old favorites. An essential side dish if you love diverse tastes is the green tea noodles. Delicious. Located within Somerset Collection South, on Big Beaver Rd east of Coolidge.

The Capital Grille Detroit - Despite the name, Capital Grille Detroit is in fact located in Troy. The meals here are expensive, but fantastic. Known for their steaks but don't be afraid to peruse the rest of the menu, it's all delicious. And don't forget to take a peek at the wine list and the desserts. Located inside Somerset Collection North, on Big Beaver Rd east of Coolidge.

Bars

Alibi of Troy - Really more of a restaurant than a bar, but they are known for their award winning pizza. The setting is rustic and cabin-like, and after dinner you'll enjoy retreating to their cozy bar area for some drinks and conversation. Located on Rochester Rd south of E South Blvd.

Bailey's Pub & Grille - Bailey's is a great place to enjoy great food like their boneless Firecracker style wings or chicken tenders, and then relax with some drinks while you watch the game on one of their many televisions. Excellent bar food and many different beers on tap. Located on Maple Rd west of Crooks Rd.

Gathering Place - Like the name suggests, Gathering Place is a fun spot with a great atmosphere to just chill with your friends and enjoy great bar food and drinks. There are video games for the gamers in your group too. Located on John R Rd, on the intersection with E Wattles Rd

Big Beaver Tavern - You just can't beat a good tavern for dinner and drinks. This one's got excellent sandwiches, burgers, chicken, seafood, salads, and more. The prices are affordable and there's trivia to keep you entertained. The locals love this one. Located on Big Beaver Rd west of Rochester Rd.

Champps Americana - Awesome atmosphere at this bar and restaurant. Huge portions, great service. You can enjoy Sunday brunch here, or great lunches and dinners any other day of the week. You can catch the game on one of their many TVs. Lots of beers on tap. A reviewer on TripAdvisor called it an "upscale sports bar," and I'd say that describes it perfectly. Located on Big Beaver Rd just off I-75.
