Hunting woods was first granted to landowner J. Lockwood, a war of 1812 veteran. This was signed over to him by the President of the time james Monroe. The area only had nine farms on it until 1916 when Fred Remole recorded a part of the area as Banks Park. The other parts were the subdivisions of Huntington woods, Manor, Bronx, and Hunting park. It was incorporated as a village in 1926 and later as a city in 1932.

Sweet Lorraine's Cafe - Sweet Lorraine's Cafe is located at 29101 Greenfield Road, Southfield, MI 48076. This is a great place to sit down with family and friends. I especially love the service here it is very professional. My most favorite time to eat is when they have the special brunches for holidays. It is a bit on the pricey side but it is worth every penny! The food is fantastic and you will not need to eat again for at least eight hours if you load your plate up right. They have great specials, great service, and depending on the location you go to they have ample and available parking as well.
