Originally named The River of Barks, it was originally used for a burial ground for the Native American Indians. Later this fine City was settled by the French in the late 1800's. Ecourse became a strong economic force with its first steel mill which was incorporated in 1923.

China Bowl Restaurant - This great place is located at 3754 West Jefferson Avenue, Ecorse, MI 48229. They offer a causal dining experience. The food offered would include Chinese food, fruit, soups and salads. They fresh fish is excellent and is recommended by many regular patrons.

Taco Especial - This Ecourse favorite is located at 278 Southfield Road, Ecorse, MI 48229. This Mexican place is an Ecourse favorite and has been in existence for over twenty years. My friends love the shrimp po boys. The dress is casual, since this is a diner style eating establishment. The average entree is under 9 dollars. The restaurant is family friendly and offers great dining experience for those with children.

Bars

Happy Hour Bar and Grill - The Happy Hour bar is located at 4424 West Jefferson Avenue, Ecorse, MI 48229. This is a place to go hang with your friends and family. I always have a great time when I go in there. The beer is very reasonably priced. The bar offers pool, darts, and horse shoes in the summer. The parking is free and readily available. The staff is super friendly.

Rusty's Saloon - Rusty's is located at 3984 West Jefferson Avenue, Ecorse, MI 48229. This bar and grill is a great place to go relax and have a delicious bar burger and fries. The parking is easily accessible. The staff is friendly and ready to serve you with some of the best service we have seen in a while. Stop in to Rusty's for some beer, food, and fun on your next evening off.

Fort Street Brewery - Fort Street Brewery is located right at 1660 Fort Street, Lincoln Park, MI 48146. The parking is free which is great. The average drink price is 4 dollars. If you really like beer you need to stop in and try the root beer flavored beer, it is said to be excellent by the patrons that have tired it. This micro brewery offers a great deal of other beers to choose from that will tantalize your taste buds. Enjoying everything they have to offer in one night is literally impossible and a return trip is going to be necessary.
