Restaurants

Big Bear Lodge - We love Big Bear Lodge for its rustic atmosphere which includes chandeliers made from deer antlers. Many of the dishes here have a distinctive applewood smoked flavor that you just can't find elsewhere. The drink prices are very affordable, and the servers are attentive and friendly. We'd recommend the Spit-fired Roasted Pork Loin. Located in Flat Rock, on Telegraph Road between Gibraltar Road and West Road.

Pipers Restaurant - Pipers has been in business for many years, and for good reason. Their dishes are expertly prepared, their service is nothing short of stellar, and the dining experience is always pleasant and memorable. This one is also located in Flat Rock, on Telegraph Road just south of Van Horn.

Kate's Kitchen - The word to describe Kate's Kitchen according to our friends is "quaint." They are known locally for their handmade deep dish pies and delicious country breakfasts. If you love homey off beat restaurants, you will love this little hole in the wall. You'll find it in Flat Rock on West Huron River Drive.

Cafe West - If you've seeking an upscale destination where you can enjoy fresh seafood, you'll love Cafe West. The owners brought Cafe West from the hot climate of Florida up here to our state of four seasons, and that taste of the tropical is just what we need. Absolutely the best fish, seafood, and steaks in the downriver area. Located in Trenton on West Jefferson Avenue, right in the middle of all the shops and stores before you hit Elizabeth Park.

Pete's Place - Pete's Place is part coffee shop, part restaurant. All their dishes and drinks are fresh and delicious. You can go casual here and relax with a great family dinner, and they're open from breakfast straight through dinner so you can come in at any time and enjoy a great meal. We would highly recommend the homemade lasagna, or for the seafood lovers, the hand battered fish and chips. You'll find Pete's in Brownstown, on Telegraph Road just north of King Road

Moose McGregor's - Moose McGregor's is a local favorite for the delicious food, cheap drinks, and of course the dance floor. You'll find this Brownstown staple on Telegraph Road just south of King Road.

The Final Score Lounge - Very comfy sports bar with big screen TVs, delicious half pound ground rounds, and plenty of cheap drinks to keep your glass full all night without breaking the bank. We love the low key vibe and the friendly staff. You can find Final Score on Dix Toledo Highway, right where Telegraph Road forks north of West Road.

Drinks Saloon - Drinks Saloon is a great nightspot in Brownstown. We go for the pool tables and live music, but the food and drinks are also noteworthy. Plenty of daily specials to keep you from stretching your wallet too far. Don't skip the burgers! They are juicy and delicious. You'll find this cozy little bar on Allen Road between King and Sibley Road.

Joe's Prime Time Pub - If you love a cozy local bar and grill with a comfortable pub feel, you'll want to check out Joe's Prime Time Pub. The drink prices are nice and low here, and the crowds are boistrous and friendly. Come for the cheap drinks and stay for the good times. Located on Fort Street south of Vreeland.

Big Al's Sports Bar - We love this sports bar for its comfortable vibe. The staff is always friendly and fast to serve your favorite drinks, and the prices are also affordable.
